Cyber-Monday Greeting Farm Blog Hop!

Welcome, everyone!

I'm SO thrilled to be a part of The Greeting Farm customer cyber-blog hop on the Splendid Stamping blog today! I'm sure the list of participants is super long, but that just makes it all the better, right? I LOVE all the Greeting Farm inspiration I can get!

So, here are a couple cards I made for the hop today using Beanie Anya (I believe, she is now retired, sorry). I started my collection of Anya and Ian stamps a little over a year ago, and I'm afraid I'm getting a little out of control (is that possible?). BUT they are SO darn cute! Each one seems to remind me of my kiddos for some reason.

Supplies used: paper from Basic Grey Nordic Holiday; sentiment from Papertrey Ink Signature Christmas; snowflake punch from Marvy Uchida; snowflake embossing folder from Sizzix; Beanie Anya from Greeting Farm; colored with Copic markers.

MWM Citrine #6 - #10

Hello there!

I have officially completed the Scrapbook Steals Citrine sketch series! I'm Completely Citrine!

Sorry for the long post here, but I wanted to share the last four sketches from the Citrine series. If you want to see my other posts for earlier weeks in the series, please click here for sketches #3-5, here for #2, and here for #1.

I'm still playing catch up on older albums, but this weeks sketch at was perfect to document my husband and daughter's bond together (from over 5 years ago...but they still have that adorable bond). Here is my take on the Citrine #10 sketch:
I used papers from the Paper Loft's Easy Breezy collection. I fussy cut a few of the flowers from the patterned paper for embellishment, but I wanted to keep this page clean and simple, so there is not much more embellishment than that.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on Citrine #9:
I loved the idea that Melodee had for using 6x6 paper pads. I just received this beautiful 6x6 pad called Traditions from Carta Bella from Scrapbook Steals and the colors reminded me so much of a very dear friend (who I consider a 2nd family to me), so it seemed logical to scrap one of my favorite pictures from my last visit with her and her husband. I fussy cut the tags from one of the sheets to make a banner and inked all edges with a Bamboo colored ink from Close to My Heart. The stickers are from Sassafrass Lass.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on Citrine #8:
The papers for this layout are from Paper Loft's Everyday Life collection...I love the little journaling card (I just need to learn how to write less for these types of "lists"...eek. Oh does serve the journaling purpose.). I used stamps from Ali Edwards/Technique Tuesday
Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on Citrine #7:

We just lost our sweet kitty, Fred, so this was a bitter sweet page to create. All the papers and embellishments are Sassafrass Lass, with the exception of my attempt to make my own washi tape.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on Citrine #6:

The sketch originally called for two pictures, but I really just wanted to spotlight this one photo of my sleeping babes (now thinking it might be nicer in 5x7). I used the Corinne papers from SEI for this, and honestly, I had to take another picture in hopes to show off how pretty this foiled and embossed paper is SO pretty. I fussy cut and popped up the pretty flowers from one of the papers that was a little too busy for me. The title was stamped using stamps from Ali Edwards/Technique Tuesday

Guest Hoppin' with Unity!

Happy Thursday!

I am SO thrilled to be hopping today with Unity as a guest hopper! I won the Unity {be inspired} Sept./Oct. challenge and was invited to play along this week with all these insanely creative ladies. Needless to say, I'm beyond giddy over this!

I am the caboose in this hoppin' party, BUT, just in case you made it here without seeing any other blogs before me, the party started over on the Unity blog.

My project was inspired by the new Unity {be inspired} challenge...I am completely in LOVE with this color palette! AND of course I want to encourage all of you to take part in the challenge too...the prize package is Ah-MAZING!

Here is a little card I put together using the cutest owl stamp I have ever seen (Owl Be Yours Forever)...and it's an itty bitty making it totally affordable cuteness :) I followed the beautiful color scheme from the new challenge pretty closely...there is something about orange, pink and navy blue that make me happy :) All my papers, ribbon, inks, and button are Close To My Heart products. The die cuts are from Spellbinders. The border punch is Fiskars.

And...I couldn't stop there. I had to give the card sketch a try too (cuz why not, right?). This super adorable stamp is the You Are My Main Squeeze (another awesome itty bitty). I used my watercolor pencils and copics to color the image. All my papers, button, and ribbon are Close To My Heart products.

****Don't forget to comment on each blog in the hop today! Unity will be giving away this beautiful set to two lucky commenters leaving a comments on each blog in the hop:

Thanks for stopping by...don't forget to return back to return to the Unity blog to check to see if you won later this week!

Sparkly Halloween - Guest Designer with Cute Card Thursday

Happy Halloween everyone!

In honor of this fabulous holiday, and for my last post for the Cute Card Thursday challenges as a guest designer, I put together this adorable "sparkly" card:

I'm using an adorable House Mouse Halloween stamp called "Bewitching Pumpkins". I colored it with watercolor pencils and a Close to My Heart blending pen. All the papers were matted and then popped up with foam adhesive (all of the papers are from Close to My Heart). I'm in a bit of a love affair with buttons, and since I didn't have any glittery buttons, I made my own by backing clear buttons to American Crafts glitter tape and cutting around it. I heat embossed the stamped stars and sentiment with gold embossing powder from Michaels.

Photographing the card at more of an angle shows the dimension and sparkle better :)

Well, thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day and I hope your evening isn't too spooky!

Spooktacular Halloween - Cute Card Thursday Guest Designer

Hello there!

I am happy to be back again as a guest designer for Cute Card Thursday this week!

The theme this week is "Spooktacular"...which translates as "ghosts" to me, ha!

Here is my take on the theme this week:

I used the Captured Moments (retired) stamp from Close to My Heart, and sponged various die inks using masks. I was a little surprised how bright the colors turned out, but over all I like it. The papers are from an old Bats and Weasels collection from Piggy Tales.

Sweet Fall Thank You!

Happy Monday!

Here is a cute little card I put together for a couple challenges - the Use What You Have Challenge #19 with the Sweet Stamp Shop and the Paper Loft #11 sketch challenge.

I used the new Fall Gratitude stamps for the trees and the sentiments are from Scootin' By (retired).
I have a ridiculous amount of paper and a growing amount of twine over the last couple years. Here are a couple pics of my stash.

And here is the fabulous sketch I modeled this card after:

One of my favorite paper companies is Paper Loft...the colors and distressed papers are so pretty. I used a printed piece (Starfish) from the Island Sun collection, and matted that with solid honey colored cardstock from Close to My Heart.

Thanks for visiting!

Mid Week Mojo - Citine (#3, 4 and 5)

Hello there!

I'm surprising myself by keeping up with the Scrapbook Steals Citrine series...this hasn't happened in a very long time. I guess it's fair to say I got my "mojo" back...oh, boy, ha! I'll thank all my crafty friends for that!

Although I've been getting these layouts posted on Facebook and submitted in time, I've been terrible about posting my layouts on my sorry for the long post, but here are the last three layouts and sketches I have completed in the series.

I used Basic Grey Nordic Holiday papers, die cut tags, and stickers for this layout. I also used some of my treasured Ali Edwards stamps and a new stamp from Close to My Heart in their new Workshop on the Go, Sparkle and Shine. I used the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricuit Cartridge to cut the label to match the stamp. The twine, inks and buttons are also Close to My Heart products. Here is the sketch I followed (pretty darn closely):

For this layout I used Pebbles Country Picnic collection, which is one of my favorite steals from Scrapbook Steals. The papers, flowers, tags, and alpha stickers all are from the same kit. The colors are beautiful...and SO perfect for my sweet baby girl. I used a Spellbinder dies to cut the label and added wood veneer hearts and white heart brads for visual interest. Here is the sketch:

This weeks sketch reminded me more of a title that is what I did! Yes...I am still scrapbooking albums from 8 years ago (gasp)! This album was made with Creative Memories papers (the Everyday Power Palette collection), so I wanted title page to reflect the same kit, but I was running VERY low on paper scraps (since I'm almost finished with 2005 So, this page is actually several pieces of scrap paper pieced together. I added some CM stickers from the kit, some washi and wood veneer hearts. Minousha Bari, who created the sketch this week, created her own paper flowers. I was so inspired, I did something similar, but tried to make them not as "flower" like. Here is her sketch:

Thank you for stopping by and visiting! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Guest Designer Cute Card Thursday - Candyman

Hello there!

I'm a guest designer again with Cute Card Thursday and their weekly challenges. This week's theme is the Candyman.

I have this very small, and adorable, candy corn stamp from Inque Boutique that I have been hoarding for a little too long, so I was super excited to have a candy themed project to finally ink it up (sorry I don't have a link to share of the set - it must be too old). I paired that with the Dear Lizzy mason jar stamp and colored them all with my Close to My Heart blending pen and die ink pads to attempt a watercolor look. The papers, twine, and brad are all from Close to My Heart as well, and the adorable corduroy button is from Stampin' Up.

Thanks for visiting...

Unity Sketch Challenge (Sept/Oct.)

Here is another card I made using the card sketch challenge by Unity Stamps:
This card also used the same colors from the color challenge, but I really liked the sketch. The sentiment, tree, and ferns are also from the Naturally You set. I colored these images with die ink pads and a blending pen so it gave a watercolor feel to the images. The boarder punch is from Martha Stewart.

Thanks again!

Unity Color Challenge (September/October)

Hello there!

This is the first time I've participated in the Unity Stamp challenges...I don't have too many stamps from them yet, but I'm in love.

Here is a card I put together using their color challenge:
I used SEI dill blossom papers for this and colored the adorable turtle image from Naturally You with watercolor pencils. The die cut scalloped square is from Spellbinders.

Cute Card Thursday - Neutral Zone Birthday

Hello again,
I am guest designer again for Cute Card Thursday.  The theme this week is the Neutral Zone.
I put together this simple birthday card using papers from Studio Calico.  I die cut the label using Spellbinder dies and used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

Ribbon and mini pearls are from my stash, but I believe they are both from Michaels Craft store.

Thanks for visiting...hope you'll play along with the challenge!

Wicked Halloween - Cute Card Thursday Guest Designer

I am happy to be a guest designer for Cute Card Thursday this week!

The theme this week was Signs of Distress. I had a lot of fun sanding, shredding the edges of my papers with scissors, and inking all my papers to give them a nice rustic and beat-up feel. I was pretty happy with how this card turned out, and inspired by the design team to try some other tricks.

Here is the card I put together:

I love that witch stamp! All the papers, stamps, and inks are from Close to My Heart, the ribbon (Michaels), button (October Afternoon), twine (Joanns), bitty button brads (Making Memories) and the die cut for the label is from Spellbinders.

Thanks for visiting!

Mid Week Mojo - Citrine #2

Hello there!

I created this fun little layout using the Scrapbook Steals Citrine #2 challenge sketch.

For this I used Huckleberry Pond papers from The Paper Loft and a couple rub-ons from an old Close to My Heart kit. I loved how simple this came together!

Here is the original sketch:

Mid Week Mojo Citrine #1

Happy end of September! I seriously can't believe that October is just around the corner. Time really has been speeding by lately.

It felt so good to scrapbook again...printing pictures and getting a little crafty just made my heart happy!

I was inspired to start the next series of sketch challenges on They just started their new 10-week series, Citrine. So, with any luck I can keep up and play along this time!

Here is my take on last weeks sketch:
I used the Huckleberry Pond and Hooked on Fishing collections from the Paperloft - I really love the rustic and outdoorsy themed papers...and these papers are perfect for all our camping and canoeing trips! The wooden buttons and wood veneer arrows are from Close to My Heart.

Here is the actual Citrine #1 sketch:

Guest Designer at Paper Loft

Today I'm featured on the Paper Loft blog as a guest designer from winning the August sketch contest! This is super exciting since I have never been a guest designer before!

These are the cards that sent using Paper Loft papers:
This birthday card was created with Huckleberry Pond papers, which have a more outdoorsy and masculine feel to them. The stamp is from the Everyday Button Bits stamp from Papertrey Ink.
This birthday card was made with papers from the Serendipity line (which is an older line, so it is no longer posted on their website for sale...but is by far one of my favorite collections). I fussy cut the flowers from one of the floral papers and the sentiments are from a coordinating word puzzle sheet.

This cute little card was not posted on the blog, but I made this for my aunt who just got a new nursing job. I really like this card, so I wanted to share it :) I used papers from Grandma's House (which is also another older line that doesn't look like all the papers are available any more through the Paper Loft website). But, the colors are are rich and pretty in person...this picture doesn't do much justice. The adorable Cheeky Nurse stamp is from the Greeting Farm. I colored her with a combo of copics and a CTMH white pigment ink marker (because I used the tan Paper Loft paper as my base to stamp on).

Thanks for stopping by!

Scootin' birthday with Paper Loft!

It has been SOOOO long since I've had the chance to be crafty and play along in challenges. We've made a few renovations to our home, which ended up getting me evicted from my original office/craft room. BUT...lucky me, I'm just about all back together again and in a new and even better room. I'll blog about my space as soon as I have it "clean" (those who know me know that I'm a messy clean tends to be in the eye of the beholder, ha).

Anyhoo...I had the chance to pull together  this adorable little birthday card to play along in a couple challenges:

I'm entering this in Sweet Stamp shops "Use what you have challenge #10" and in the Paper Loft PLS08 Sketch challenge.

I have been hoarding this really pretty Serendipity paper from Paper Loft and decided it was time to dust it off and make something fun. The colors and distressing in this line got me excited to break out the good ol' watercolor pencils and blending pen from Close to My Heart. I just got this adorable stamp set from the Sweet Stamp Shop and I have to say it will be well used these next couple months...there are so many fun sentiments in this set, and it is just Ah-DORABLE (and still on sale...hint hint)!. And, of course...TWINE. I love my twine these days :) Here is a pick of my selected "stash":

And, here is a close up of the watercolor pencil details (as good as my poor little camera could get) and and pop-ups :)

Here the sketch from the PLS08 challenge: feels good to be crafting and blogging again! Thanks for stopping by!

Amber #9 - Scrapbook Steals

Hello there!

I have been busy scrapbooking with my friends this weekend and FINALLY got one of the current Scrapbook Steals sketches completed.

I've been trying so hard to get caught up on all of my albums and using all my older scrapbook supplies. So, this layout is using old Creative Memories papers from the Cabana collection mixed with some old Inque Boutique stamps. It feels good to finally get these photos from 2006 in an album!

Here is the layout:

The Amber #9 sketch is actually a one pager, but I make mine into a 2 page layout for the sake of the space in my album :) Here is a link to the sketch:
Sketch Amber 9 April 17
Now, lets see if I'm able to use all the previous 8 sketches in the Amber series to qualify for the grand prize next round :) Time to get scrappin!

Take care, thanks for visiting.
