Birthday Card for Mojo Monday 278

My awesome boss just celebrated her 50th birthday today, so I pulled together a very bright and cheery square birthday card (none of that depressing, black "over the hill" messaging here) using the Mojo Monday 278 sketch challenge.

I used Basic Grey's Cupcake papers and chipboard shapes, with some Stampin' Up striped ribbon and Close to My Heart alpha stamps (for the messy stamped "fabulous" part of the card). My camera didn't quite pick up how fun the colors in this paper collection are. I love the bright, bold colors!

Double Take Tuesday: Sketch-a-licious!

Here is an adorable birthday card I made using the Farm Fresh Double Take Tuesday Sketch-a-licious challenge :)
I used Greeting Farm's Oh Boy! Ian stamp and colored him with Copics. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Fly Away Mini Stamp Set. He is layered on papers from Close to My Heart and Spellbinders Nestability die. I embossed a few of the strips with a Sizzix embossing folder from Stampin' Up, and punched the boarder with a large scallop from Fiskars.

 Here is Suzanne's fun sketch:

Glad I had the chance to play along with this, I am loving this sketch!

A Congrats Card for Mojo Monday 277

Happy Sunday everyone!

I have a little card to share with you today using Mojo Monday's sketch 227.

I had a lot of fun playing around with my dies and stamps from Papertrey Ink (Fly Away Mini) and my Stampin' Up embossing folders by Sizzix. I sanded some textured cardstock from Close to My Heart for the back ground to give it a more rustic feel. Then added the adorable wood veneer stars from Studio Calico.

Here is the original sketch I played around with:

Thanks for stoppin' in to take a look :)

Mojo Monday 276 & Farm Fresh Friday

Hi everyone!
My sweet cousin just turned 18 years old and is a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe. Not to long ago I purchased the Greeting Farm's Cheeky Glamor stamp because it reminded me SO much of Marilyn AND my cousin. So, this week's Mojo Monday and the Farm Fresh Friday challenge was a great opportunity to finally ink it up!
I used Close to My Heart papers and the Card Word Puzzle stamp set for the background stamping and sentiment. I colored the adorable Cheeky Glamor girl with my Copics (hair: E74, E77, and E79; skin: E000, E00, and E11; dress: V15 and V17) and then used my Sakura "Clear Star" Glitter Gelly Roll Pen to add sparkle. To play along with the Farm Fresh Friday challenge, I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities  circle and lacey circle dies and my Fiskars scalloped sentiment boarder punch to embellish.

Here is the sketch I followed almost exactly:

Valentines challenges :)

Hi everyone!
I made this simple and sweet lil' card for the Paper Smooches Designer Drafts Challenge and Scrapbook Steals Monday Craft Madness. I used a couple of PS digi stamps, SEI papers and ribbons from the "Sweetie" collection., the Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug, and the Circle Limitless Layers dies from Papertrey Ink.

I'm really liking this simple, but very practical sketch. I think I'll probably be turning to this one a few times here in the near future!

Here is the inspirational sketch that was part of the Paper Smooches challenge:

PLS02 The Paper Loft Sketch/Guest Designer Challenge

A double post in one day? Yes, it must be cold outside...OR...there must be some darn good challenges to play with!

The Paper Loft has posted their second sketch challenge with a great sketch. Here is my take using the Serendipity papers:
A little fussy cutting, brads, and twill ribbon, and I've got a pretty little card I can use for just about any occasion.  I really like the Paper Loft products...their papers are so lovely!

Seeing Stars

It's a very cold Sunday around here, so, that is a perfect excuse to CRAFT!

I've been sitting on the DCWV Stardust Stack for several months and have been dying to finally put it to good use. I am totally smitten with the jewel toned colors and the beautiful designs. The glittery accents are so pretty!

Between the DCWV's January Stack-o-holic challenge and the current Use It Tuesday Make It Sparkle challenge, I had all the inspiration to get some of my older photos scrapped (finally).  Here is the sketch from the DCWV's blog:
Here is my take using the Stardust Stack:
I also used a little American Crafts Glitter Tape...and, oh my, I LOVE that stuff! Who knew I'd become so addicted and need feel the need to have every color...sheesh!

I also got carried away and also had to pull together another layout.
I just love the purple and gold combo...even with pictures of my son! I used Scrapbook Steals Jade #3 sketch challenge for this layout.

Thanks for stopping by!

PLS01 The Paper Loft Sketch Challenge!

Those who know me know that I have a bit of a pretty paper addiction, especially distressed designs that have colors found in nature :). So, it wouldn't be a surprise that I really like Paper Loft papers. Needless to say, I was very excited to see that the company started their first ever Sketch Challenge.

I'm a little too late in posting my card for this challenge, but, I still wanted to play along.
Here is my take on the sketch:
Here is the sketch:

All the paper products are from the Paper Loft's For the Record collection, the stamps are from Papertrey Ink's Everyday Button Bits

Thanks for visiting! And Happy New Year!
