MWM Carnation #7

Hello my crafty friends!
I am playing along (and actually staying caught up) with the Mid Week Mojo sketch series. I have so many pictures to scrapbook from my recent trip back to Utah, these sketches have been really motivating!
Here is my take of the current sketch:
This is another favorite kit purchase from, it is Crate Paper's Storyteller collection. I love that the kits have everything I need to make a beautiful page :)

MWM Carnation #6

This last week I celebrated my 15 year anniversary at my is hard to believe that so many years have flown by, but life sure has a way of doing that! But over the years I have made some incredible friendships working there, some that I know will last longer than my employment :)

I used this weeks Mid Week Mojo sketch from to highlight the only photo I took of me and my wonderful friend at Happy Hour celebrating 15 years of friendship and work (for me...she has been there even longer!).

I used an old SEI paper collection (Winnie's Walls) which seems appropriate for the length of our friendship (and I am pretty sure she was at the CKC convention when I bought it several years ago).

MWM Carnation #5 - You Make Me Smile

I'm slowly catching up on some older scrapbooking projects that have been haunting me, so I'm grateful for the weekly motivation from Melodee and the Scrapbook team! This weeks sketch was a nice quick to throw-together page, so I'm sure I'll be using this sketch again and again :)

Here is my take on Carnation #5:

Here is the sketch:

I didn't create long banner pieces like the sketch because I wanted to show off my die-cut bubble wand to help tell the story, but I'm happy with how it all came together. This was one of the first kits I bought from Scrapbook Steals - I visited their warehouse while I was in Utah one year and this adorable kit was out for sale. They have such great collections!

Thanks for visiting.

Supplies used:
  • All paper and embellishments: On the Sunny Side (My Minds Eye)
  • Letter Stickers: Honey Sticky Keys (October Afternoon)

PGCB #89 - Food!

I am playing along with the Paper Girls today and Kerys has a fun challenge today around Food

I used the theme to highlight my favorite ice cream shop in Ogden, UT. I got to travel back to Utah to visit family this last weekend and that always entails a few traditional stops at our favorite places to eat...and one we never miss is Farr's ice cream :) Here is the layout I created:

I love how this place hasn't changed all that much over my life has been like this since I was a little girl. But this little ice cream shop holds a lot of happy memories for me and my family.

I based this layout off of the MWM Carnation 3 sketch from

Here is the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you will share your food inspired project with us on the Paper Girls Challenge blog!

Bulk Thank You Cards

We were very fortunate to get to celebrate my Grandmother's 80th birthday this last weekend with her. We hosted a celebration at the local church in her small town and had a really nice afternoon getting to meet her friends from over the years. I wanted to make sure that my Grandmother had thank you notes all ready and assembled so she could quickly send thanks to all those that were able to attend. Not really knowing how many people where going to attend, I made 40 of these...think assembly line stamping, ha ha!

The color scheme was fall related with hits of gold, so these were the cards I created for her:

I tried a technique that was new to me (but I had been wanting to try for a long time) and that was to use my embossing folders in my Cuttlebug like a letter press. So, I brayered on ink onto one of my embossing folders and added the detail to the edge. The ink got a little messy on the edges, so I just covered it up with a thin strip of gold washi - it was perfect!

I then used up some stamps that haven't seen ink in a long time. I only used three other in colors: chocolate, vineyard berry, and autumn terracotta - but I used second generation stamping to achieve the lighter yellow-ish colored flowers. I was very happy with the results...and thankfully my Grandmother was too!

It was really great that Scrapbook Steals had a Monday Craft Madness dedicated to cards just as I was creating, I am linking this post with their #THENEWMCM challenge :)

Thanks for taking the time to stop in!
