Cutie Halloween Cards

Hello there, and happy Fall!

Karrie from the Paper Girls Challenge blog has challenged us to create a Halloween project - which is perfect for this time of year. My family absolutely loves Halloween too, so creating a project like this ends up a lot of fun for me :)

Additionally, the Paper Girls have teamed up with the Double Trouble Paper Crafting blog to create a cute/fun and whimsical type of Halloween project. Having both challenge blogs play together was double incentive to get crafty!

I couldn't resist the urge to break out my Distress Oxide inks, this adorable "Witch way is the candy?" stamp and dies from My Favorite Things, and create this adorable trio of cards to play along with the two groups!

These images are perfect for Copic markers - so I had fun coloring all these critters, pumpkins and this adorable witch!

The Distress Oxide Inks were perfect for the spooky background. I did a masking technique to create the moon and only spritzed the blue/black background with water to give it a faux galaxy feel.

I wanted to add a little sparkle to this card, so I outlined the moon with a glitter pen and colored in the clouds to make them look a little more dark to mirror the night scene.

I loved how each of these cards turned out - and they were so fun to make!

If you're as inspired as I was by the theme, be sure to check out both blogs to link your projects:
1.) Paper Girls Challenge Blog - link your project to challenge #162 no later than 11:55pm MST on 10/27
2.) Double Trouble Paper Crafting Blog - link your project to challenge #12 no later than 9:00pm CT on 10/28

Happy crafting - and happy Halloween!!!

  1. Brittany, your distress oxide ink backgrounds are striking against your adorable Halloween images and excellent copic coloring...I'm still learning and experimenting with copics and love the blending but still have a little difficulty with shadowing, but sometimes it doesn't matter. Thanks for pairing up with us and hope it's successful for both of our challenges. Don't forget to share your artwork with us and be eligible for prices too.
