Hello!
I'm so thrilled to be selected as one of the Growing in Unity gals this week! I am a veteran GIU gal - i was fortunate to be able to do this the last two years, and I really hope to have more opportunities to do this in the future! Unity is seriously one of my favorite stamp companies - and it's primarily because they are SO much fun and do great things like this.
The best part, after getting the chance to share all my projects with all of you, is that I get to choose 2 random winners from my comments at the end of the week who will recieve 25 random stamps from Unity! So be sure to visit each day and leave a comment to up your chances of winning!
Here is my project to kick off my week, using one of my favorite Unity stamps, Fishy Philosophy.

Here is my project to kick off my week, using one of my favorite Unity stamps, Fishy Philosophy.
I stamped the fish onto glitter paper with Staz-On black ink and carefully colored them with my Copic markers. I cut them out and popped them up with foam tape to give the impression they were swimming around.
The background pannel was created by smooshing watercolor paper into Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks (faded jeans, wilted violet, and peeled paint). I LOVE the soft, mat colors those inks provide - you may see another project this week where I used them!
After the pannel dried, I used the oxide inks to stamp the sentiment, kelp and coral images from the set, but then water colored the coral image with some dye ink from Close to My Heart (Smoothie) to make it stand out a bit from the rest, but not be too bold. I popped up the pannel and added two coordinating glitter washi tapes from my collection the edge of the card for a little added sparkle.
I'm really glad that you've had the chance to stop by to visit my blog. Please be sure to leave a comment! I look forward to having you visit all week :)
Cheers!
Brittany
