Dreams - GIU #2

Hello again!

Thanks for visiting again for day 2 of my week of Growing In Unity!

I LOVE watercolor paintings, but I'm still learning how. But, it's not so intimidating to create watercolor cards...so of course I had to choose a Phyllis Harris stamp set to play with to achieve this soft look. I chose "Reach for the Stars". This set was one of my first Unity stamps...I just had to have the sweetness of this stamp as part of my collection (as well as many, many other Phyllis Harris sets).

I don't own watercolors, so instead I use my die ink pads. I spritz my water color paper with water, then smoosh my ink pad(s)onto a craft mat then give a lit spritz of water to the ink. Now I have my palate to work with :) I masked off the sweet little girl and cat image before painting the background...then dried the paper with my heat gun.

Once it was dried, I removed the mask and then used watercolor pencils to color the image...I'm absolutely in love with how soft the colors turned out.

I added a little glitter to the stars and added a glitter tape accent to the side just for a bit of sparkle since the card was so soft.

Please don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win! I get to randomly select 2 folks to win 25 Unity Stamps at the end of my week, so be sure to come back every day this week.

Thanks again!
Brittany

  24. I love this stamp, too. So adorable. And I like hearing how others go about learning to use the watercolor idea. I actually have some watercolor paints, but I'm a bit leery of using them on cards quite yet.
